The Biennial Convention of New England Women of the ELCA will take place at Calumet beginning on October 24th and ending after lunch on Saturday, October 26th. The gathering is for women who are members or friends of any ELCA Lutheran congregations throughout New England. All are welcome -- truly!
If you've never attended a WELCA convention, please consider visiting Calumet this year and being part of it this year. We hope that it will be a time of renewal of spirit, growth in knowledge, and connection to others throughout the synod.
In addition to special guests Bishop Nathan Pipho and Myrna Wells-Ulland (churchwide WELCA president), the convention will feature leadership of Pastor Nikki Harvell of Faith Lutheran in Quincy, MA & Pastor Abigail Johnson of St. James Lutheran in Southbury, CT. Musician Diane Jacobson (piano) & volunteer song leaders will lead fantastic singing during our excellent worship experiences.
The 2024 convention theme is -- *Justice for Women & Children.*
Our focus will be to "Let the World Hear Our Song" as we delve into the beautiful Magnificat which you can read for yourself before arriving -- Luke 1: 46-55.
Special note: For those registering by October1, there is a generous discount. For those experiencing any kind of economic hardship which would make attending the convention impossible, we have scholarship monies available. When we say all are welcome -- we mean it.
