April 24 - April 26, 2018
LEADER: The Rev. Sara J Anderson, Associate to the Bishop, New England Synod
COORDINATOR & SONG LEADER: Judy Hakanson Smith, Deacon, Calumet staff
2018 THEME: "Grounded"
Special guest artist, Marge Otis, will lead a scarf making activity on Wednesday morning. Marge led this activity at the first two 2017 November Women's Weekends and was so well received we just had to invite her for the spring retreat!!!
A special dinner and a movie night is planned with Italian food and a showing of the movie "Enchanted April" set in an Italian villa. Plan on wearing your scarf from the morning session to dinner that night!
Women's retreats at Calumet are among the most popular programs we have here at Calumet. They provide an important opportunity for women to get away for fellowship, relaxation, faith sharing, and fun. Come enjoy breakfast buffets, yummy lunches and dinners and NO dishes to wash. This year's accommodations will be in our Village Cabins and Conference Center rooms with all meals in the Conference Center.
Our spring midweek retreat includes awesome singing and music, inspirational devotions, and a Bible study offered by the chaplain. With free time built in to the program, some folks head to North Conway for an enjoyable shopping trip, while others go for a refreshing hike, and still others curl up with a favorite book in front of our fireplace or on our sunny front porch. Plan on arriving for lunch on Tuesday and departing after lunch on Thursday.
And for those who choose it, there is the added amenity of a soothing massage with Nancy Carlson of Silver Lake Massage Therapy for a small fee.
No matter what you choose to do with your time though, the best part is making new friends and re-connecting with old friends.
