To start, Welcome to Camp Calumet! We are so happy that you have found your way to our website. We are excited for you to explore all the wonderful things that our outdoor ministry has to offer. One of the best things about Calumet is how it is able to help such a wide variety of groups and individuals explore their faith while sharing in fellowship, having fun, and exploring the beauty of God's creation.
As you navigate through our site, you will see that we have an abundance of ready-made programs designed for all different types of groups. Whether you're a congregation, a church council, a youth group, a family, or just an old group of friends, Calumet is sure to have a program that will allow you to come together and enjoy a variety of exciting activities designed to strengthen your faith and enrich your lives.
Calumet was first founded as a resident camp for children, and that is still one of our strongest missions. We allow children to come together and enjoy all manner of exciting summertime activities, while forging lasting friendships, as well as growing as individuals. If you are interested in sending your child to Calumet, be sure to check out the Resident Camp for Kids section!
Over the years however, Calumet has broadened its mission to include programs that span the entire year. You'll find these programs under their different seasonal headings. And if you're interested in bringing your group up to Calumet for its own, personalized retreat or gathering, Calumet's talented program staff is always ready to assist you. So take some time and explore what we offer, and then give us a call or send us an email
In the Summertime, you can experience the Campground and Conference Center as part of a family, youth group, congregation, group of friends, or as an individual. For Calumet's RESIDENT CAMP FOR KIDS, you'll find all the information you need under "Come Visit" at the top of this page.
In the Fall, Calumet offers a variety of week and weekend events that take advantage of the spectacular New England autumn. These events include our popular Columbus Day Weekend, our service-oriented Fall Work Days, as well as our Middle School Fall Fling.
Wintertime brings with it a wide assortment of programs that center around the holidays, youth groups, families, and friends. Calumet's iconic Toboggan Run is THE place to spend a couple hours in the afternoon. Ice Skating, Broomball, snowshoeing, skiing at nearby King Pine ... the New England Synod's winter paradise awaits!
In the Spring, you can come to Calumet to help us get the camp ready for the summer, or come to watch the land wake up from its winter slumber, or to celebrate Memorial Day. Groups are here all throughout the season -- day trips, quilting groups, home-school family get-aways, Spring Fling youth group weekend -- enjoy the quiet of Freedom, NH before the awesome craziness of summer.
And of course, if you're interested in developing your own, personalized retreat or getaway, our talented program staff is always ready to help make sure your time at Calumet is filled with enriching activities and faith-filled fun. So again, whether you are a congregation, youth group, quilting guild, individual, family, or group of old friends, Calumet has something to offer. We hope to hear from you soon, and hope you enjoy our site!
