Faithful Friends

What is Faithful Friends?

This is an active program for adults with special needs who may or may not have been a participant in our children's Resident Camp Program in the past.  Lodging is provided in "The Barn" in the Family & Adult Campground.  Meals are provided in the Conference Center Dining Room.  Activities to look forward to are swimming, arts & crafts, campfires, pontoon boat rides, hanging out & enjoying Lake Ossipee, and games with lots of fun and laughter.  Additional activities will be in cooperation with Family and Adult Programs at Calumet. Faithful Friends must have independent daily living skills, be able to partcipate in an active physical program, and demonstrate cooperative social skills.  Staff members provide encouragement, supervise activities, and promote participation.  We have a lot of fun in a caring Christian community.  Come make new friends and renew old friendships!

As a way of ensuring this program's success and the success of each participant, we have an application process which includes a school or work questionnaire. Julie Ballance, Calumet's Registrar, and Susan Junkins, the Coordinator of the Faithful Friends, review each application to be sure that every single participant is successful. As with all of Calumet's guests who are participating in a Resident Camp program, all Faithful Friends are eligible to participate in the coach bus transportation to and from camp. To learn all the details about that option, just ask Julie.
